It's pretty much exactly what it sounds like: starting next Thursday, you're invited to pedal out to the middle of Echo Park Lake where you will be greeted by a floating library.

It's all happening in conjunction with the LA Art Book Fair and runs every day from February 11-14 from 11am-4pm. Tickets to rent pedal boats are $10 per hour, as usual.

The Floating Library is a project started by Minnesota-native Sarah Peters, who started it to explore "the underused amenity of the urban lake as a civic and creative place."

The raft was designed by architect Molly Reichert and designed by Bob Dornberger. It is presented by one of our favorite companies in Echo Park, Machine Project, with funds from the National Endowment for the Arts.
