We've almost made it to the weekend, so why does it still feel so far away? Things that will help: Puppies. Chocolate. Alcohol. To help you out with that last one, four restaurants and bars around LA are launching new happy hours with discounted bites and booze. You can make it through the week. We believe in you.
E.R.B (Downtown): One of the best bars to pop up in 2015 was E.R.B. in the Arts District, though their usual $12-$13 cocktails can be a bit steep for some. Enter happy hour: a few cocktails magically become $7, a glass of wine is $7, a pitcher of beer is $15 and E.R.B.'s burger—one of the best new burgers in town—is paired with a heaping pile of fries for a mere $10. Mon-Fri 5-7pm
Ashland Hill (Santa Monica): This popular beer garden launched a daily "Social Hour," offering discounts on their most coveted dishes. Build your own three-dish sampler for $12 with items like crispy cauliflower, falafel and sesame labneh, and charred shishito mac and cheese, or opt for a flight of 5-ounce draft beers with fries for $12. There's also Ashland Hill's "House on the house" deal: buy one glass of draft beer and your second round is free. Daily 3-6pm
El Chavo (Silver Lake): The newly re-opened restaurant is experimenting with a menu of ceviche from the Ceviche Project and chef Freddy Vargas' tacos, tortas and guacamole with pig ears, but the cocktails here are the true stars. Their new happy hour is limited to one deal—one bandera (tequila, lime and sangrita), three oysters and one beer for $10—but it's a nice segue before you head next door to neighboring bar Chavito. Tue-Thu 5-7pm
Petit Trois (Hollywood): If you can take a break from ordering Petit Trois' omelet or burger for a moment, try their new weekday happy hour. The three-hour window will offer reduced prices on bites and a specialty cocktail each week. Mon-Fri 3-6pm
