September is lobster month in Los Angeles, and whether you prefer to crack open a shell, or chow down on a roll, there is a lobster festival in town with your name on it (most likely lathered with butter). As if we needed another reason to love September, we're providing you with all the important stuff to know about LA's tastiest crustacean celebrations.
The Original Long Beach Lobster Festival
When: September 11-13
Where: Rainbow Lagoon at Pine Ave and Shoreline Drive, Long Beach
Cost: $13 admission (free for children 12 and under)
About: Kick off lobster month at this festival, which includes a dance floor, a beach bar and a giant food court.
The Port of Los Angeles Lobster Festival and Music Weekend
When: September 25-27
Where: Ports O' Call Village, San Pedro
Cost: $10 admission (free for children 12 and under)
About: This massive fest claims four Guinness records including Most Seafood Prepared at an Outdoor Event in 2009. In addition to the lobster, the seafood party also includes dancing, parades and a pirate camp.
Redondo Beach Lobster Festival
When: September 25-27
Where: Seaside Lagoon, 200 Portofino Way, Redondo Beach
Cost: $15 admission ($5 for children 6-12)
About: If one lobster fest in a weekend isn't enough to satisfy your seafood cravings, you're in luck. The Redondo Beach festival takes place up the coast from the San Pedro festival, so put on your lobster hat, go for a drive and eat some seafood.

Cost: $60 (all-you-can eat and drink)
