With Mother's Day right around the corner, we've decided to convey our deepest gratitude for all that Angeleno moms do with a love letter of sorts. Our lives wouldn't be the same without them (literally, we wouldn't be alive). From guiding us with their profound life advice to driving the streets of L.A. during prime traffic hour just to pick our butts up, they've done the most and it doesn't go unnoticed. Here’s a toast to all the Los Angeles moms out there who are rocking our world—you're the real MVPs.

1. They took the I-10 to the I-405 to the I-5 freeway every Tuesday and Thursday for our [fill in sport here] practice. That traffic-y trek is no joke—even though our athletic careers were.

2. They started feeding us weird (but very healthy) raw and vegan food before it got trendy—thanks to them, our former anti-greens crusade has evolved into a strong juice bar addiction—and we're perfectly cool with that.

3. Speaking of juice, they prefer heading over to Co-Opportunity for a juice refill than getting us a smoothie at Jamba—too much sugar, right mom?

4. They always welcome us and our dirty laundry bags with open arms after a month’s worth of no wash-dry action.

5. They casually carried our 1-year-old selves in a bjorn while they hiked the Santa Monica Stairs. We are their young grasshoppers and they are our Mr. Miyagis.

6. They command the aisles at Trader Joe’s during peak grocery shopping hours in situations where we'd likely crawl into fetal position with our carts. They are fierce goddesses who fear no overcrowded frozen section.

7. They would take us to the community gardens with friends as a playdate. You can bet we know the map of the Huntington Library Botanical Gardens just as well as we know Disneyland

8. Back in the day, they encouraged us to learn how to surf or skateboard by hiring neighbors or older kids who they met on the beach. Cue the skinned knees and first crushes.

9. They would stand in line for 20-plus minutes at the local artisanal ice cream shop so we could get our seasonal scoop. Bless them, queens.

10. They somehow whip up a feast when we come home for Friday night dinner with six friends and a few randos we recently met. We totally meant to tell you they were coming.

11. They constantly supply us with profound life advice when we vent about Tinder dates, work, the current political climate, and/or the overall unknown abyss that is adulthood. They are so wise.

12. They always insisted that we always wear sunblock and/or moisturizer to protect against the L.A. sun, whether or not we were at the beach—just imagine how many more wrinkles we would have sans their gentle nagging.

13. Thankfully, they told us us no in our tween years when we asked if we could ride our bikes down Wilshire Boulevard at 5pm or get frosted tips. Our lives and our hair thank you.

14. They always let us borrow their yoga mat for our hot yoga session—that’s right, we got it from our mamas.

15. They raised us in the best city in the world. Thanks, moms!
