Update: The LA Zoo announced today the winner is Patricia Beauchamp with "Winnie The Roo." Love.
Spring has apparently sprung a bit early for the animals at the LA Zoo, if you know what we mean. The Griffith Park institution is inviting visitors to "Meet Our Babies" with a special park map pointing out all of the new, plucky offspring from hippos, giraffes, otters and more. One fuzzy, jumpy little bugger in particular needs a name, so for the first time in 20 years, the LA Zoo is passing along naming privileges to the public.
From now until April 26, you can visit the yet-to-be-named Western gray kangaroo and post a photo of the habitat to Instagram or Twitter with the hashtag #NameOurRoo along with your proposed name. The winner will receive a GoPro, zoo membership and those sweet, sweet bragging rights—which we're willing to share if you submit one of our brilliantly-devised names.
