LA County's first bike share program launched today in Santa Monica, and we're really (wheel-y?) excited about it. To celebrate, a crowd of bikers got to try out the Breeze bikes for free. The program is sponsored by Hulu so the bikes are bright green and all of the riders were decked out in branded shirts. The program launched with about 75 bike-share hubs around Santa Monica, with a few more to come. Since Metro isn't planning to launch a Downtown Los Angeles equivalent until 2016, we'll be biking by the beach at sunset if anyone needs anything.
