We know what you're thinking: It doesn't get cold in Los Angeles. We thought so too, but as the days get shorter and the temps drop even a bit, we are downright chilled. Sure, our friends in Chicago and New York may be laughing at us, but that's going to warm them up, not us. So what can we do to get warm on these unusually cold days in L.A.? Here are a few suggestions.

1. We know you don't need an excuse for coffee, but it certainly helps on cold mornings. So head to your favorite coffee shop—and may we suggest ordering a large, extra hot.

2. Head to the gym to work up a sweat—just be sure to bring a jacket with you so you don't get a sweaty chill when you're done.

3. Hang out by the fireplace at one of these awesome bars

4. Choose one of L.A.'s best pho restaurants for dinner, and maybe add some hot sauce for an extra kick of heat.

5. Angelenos usually avoid traffic at all costs, but on cold days, traffic means more time in a heated car. So skip the Waze on the way to your destination and enjoy the blasting warmth.

6. Take a spa day at one of L.A.'s best spas and relax inside a nice, hot sauna or steam room.

7. Sip on a hot cocktail—even once the drink is gone, hopefully the alcohol will warm you up a bit.

8. Adopt a pet—it will warm your heart and give you a cuddle buddy to share body heat with.

9. Take a yoga class; yoga studios are always pretty warm, especially by the time class is over.

10. Embrace the cold, bundle up and pretend you're somewhere really, really cold by playing in the snow at Snow Los Angeles
