Time Out says

Like many Angelenos, your first encounter with Luchita Hurtado’s colorful, abstract-meets-still-life works was likely at the Hammer Museum’s 2018 edition of its biennial, Made in L.A. Now, LACMA is assembling a first-ever career survey of paintings and works on paper from the 99-year-old artist, who’s lived and worked in Santa Monica since the 1950s.

Ahead of the opening, Hurtado herself will sit down with Serpentine Galleries artistic director Hans Ulrich Obrist and LACMA curator Jennifer King.
