“Liquid light” artist Joshua White provided consummately trippy backdrops for performances at New York’s Fillmore East during the hippie-rock era, including a 1968 collaboration with artist Yayoi Kusama and her self-obliteration shows.
The Broad is rekindling that collaboration this fall as part of the blockbuster “Yayoi Kusama: Infinity Mirrors” exhibition. On three nights, White’s visuals will accompany music from Lesley Flanigan, Miho Hatori's New Optimism and Noveller inside the Broad's Oculus Hall.
Perhaps the most important detail for prospective museum visitors: Tickets to the show also include after-hours timed tickets to the “Infinity Mirrors” exhibition—if you’re willing to pay $95, that is.
