We try not to place too much hope in a new calendar year (see: 2021’s off-the-rails sequel to 2020), but you know, 2022 was kind of alright in L.A.
Sure, it started a bit grim, but the bulk of the year saw Angelenos largely returning to the things they love about this city. We welcomed—and won—the Super Bowl, celebrated a lovely cherry blossom season, laughed it up at Netflix’s long-delayed comedy fest, witnessed the return of blockbuster art exhibitions, settled back in at the Hollywood Bowl and even elected a new mayor.
So we’re taking a look back at the restaurants that impressed us the most, the pop culture we cherished and some more of 2022’s most memorable L.A. events.
