Homeland

Series three, episode 10
Events are conspiring against ‘Homeland’. Saul’s wistful dreaming last week about the US and Iran being able to sit down and talk to each other seems to have more or less come true. Good for the real-life affairs of nations, bad for TV dramatists, perhaps? Still, episode nine was ludicrous enough in places to suggest that the approaching end of this year’s ‘Homeland’ might be a blessing in disguise.

It would have been hard to credit during season one, but parts of last week’s Grand Guignol of Brody-bothering reminded us of ‘Rocky IV’. And while ‘Rocky IV’ is a lot of fun, that surely can’t have been the vibe they were going for. Tonight: Brody’s mission. It’s sure to be thrilling and ridiculous. But it’s nearly time to stop…
