London’s largest international women’s day festival is going virtual. The WOWxBBC will take over a number of BBC channels with inspiring talks, workshops and a quiz led by women in a multitude of fields. The festival will span topics from history, health, sport, science and sexuality, and respond to consequences for women and girls from the global pandemic. Women involved include former Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard, WOW Foundation’s Founder and Director Jude Kelly, broadcaster Afua Hirsch, journalist Kieran Yates, disability activists The Triple Cripples, Head of Editorial at gal-dem Charlie Brinkhurst Cuff; comedian Sandi Toksvig, actor Maxine Peake and Don’t Touch My Hair author Emma Dabiri. The weekend will end with a big feminist quiz.
