Running from now until the end of the year, the festivities began with the impressive Christmas lights switch-on event on Thursday November 9, from 3-8pm. But, as you might imagine, these are no ordinary lights, this is a brand-new sustainable Christmas lights display made from 19,269 plastic bottles and features an energy-saving LED system that produces 95% lower consumption than conventional lighting.
Visitors to the launch of Merry Marylebone season can expect an unforgettable evening of late-night shopping, in-store offers and discounts, market stalls and music along with seasonal favourites such as Santa’s Grotto, a Ferris Wheel, charity tombola and festive craft workshops. It doesn’t just look pretty either, with all proceeds from the festive celebrations donated to charity partner Mind in Brent, Wandsworth and Westminster.
