What Makes You Laugh and Cry?

Take part in a real scientific experiment and help Professor Sophie Scott's team of researchers to investigate what it is that makes us respond to crying or laughter. The two extremes of emotional reactions can be used to communicate without words, and the researchers hope to determine how old we are when we start to understand the different uses of laughing and crying, and how our social experiences affect whether we want to join in or not. Anyone over the age of three can take part for free; just drop in on Floor 1 between 11am-1pm or 2pm-5.30pm.
