If you’re a fan of viewing award-winning photography from all over the world, the Sony World Photography Awards exhibition 2025 is where you need to be this spring. Hosted by Somerset House throughout its captivating East and West Wings, you’ll encounter works from a curated selection of international photographers. Running from April 17 to May 5 2025, this is one exhibition not to be missed.
Despite its annual return, this year’s Sony World Photography Awards exhibition brings something new to the table: a series of never-before-seen works from 2024 Photographer of the Year, Juliette Pavy – as well as an incredible spectrum of photography ranging from architecture and design to wildlife and nature to sports, documentary, portraiture and more. Whatever your genre, you’ll find something remarkable adorning Somerset House’s walls this year.

And while we’re on the theme of its range of award-winning togs, the 18th Sony World Photography Awards Outstanding Contribution to Photography award goes to Susan Meiselas this year, a highly acclaimed photographer whose documentary work spans ‘insightful portrayals of people’ within their communities and beyond. With beautifully curated excerpts from five of Meiselas’ projects, including Carnival Strippers and Pandora’s Box, this exhibition highlights what is ‘often hidden from public view’ and outlines recurring themes throughout her practice.
