Skirt-lifters, nose-shapers and moustache-protectors are some of the more unusual exhibits at the Musical Museum's summer exhibition. The objects come from antique gadget enthusiast Maurice Collins' extensive and bizarre collection of curious objects, which date roughly from the Great Exhibition of 1851 to the Festival of Britain in 1951. Included in the collection are forerunners of some of our most-used modern day gadgets including a 1920s satnav, a self-pouring teasmade, a clockwork shaver from the 1940s and a mechanical burglar alarm. Entry to the exhibition is included in the museum's admission charge and tickets are valid for one year after the day of purchase.
