Need somewhere to watch Wimbledon this year? We’ve got the perfect place. St James’s Market, a secret spot right by Piccadilly Circus and Regent Street St James’s, is screening every match on its big screen, for those into the tennis spirit (and those who just want to see Roger Federer’s face larger than lifesize).

There’ll be artificial grass in the courtyard with deckchairs, so grab one for the day and settle in for a summery tennis-watching session free of distractions or discomfort. No need to book a place – just show up and claim your spot.

St James’s Market is an area with some of the city’s best shops and restaurants, so make sure you take lots of breaks to explore what’s on offer. Our tip for watching Wimbledon? Grab a cup of coffee and an open sandwich from Danish bakery Ole & Steen (a five-second amble from your deckchair) and take it back to the big screen. When you’re done with tennis for the day (it happens), stroll through St James’s Market flagships Aspinal of London and Smeg, if you’re in the mood to shop, or grab dinner and drinks at swish Nordic dining joint Aquavit (right next to the deckchairs).

There’s a whole load planned in St James’s Market as part of its Secret Summer Mkt programme of outdoor events, so keep an eye on the St James’s website for details of other exciting offerings. We’re hyped for the monthly market and acoustic sessions. But right now, it’s all about Wimbledon. See you at the tennis screening. It’s going to be… ace

Wimbledon is showing at St James’s Market (SW1Y 4AH) from Monday July 2 until Sunday July 15, between 12pm and 8pm. Check out stjameslondon.co.uk for the full schedule.
