Waltham Forest is celebrating bonfire night with a difference once again this year, switching up the traditional pyrotechnics for a environmentally-conscious light show featuring projections, lasers and the like. The front of Grade II-listed Waltham Forest Town Hall will be lit up with the display, which has been produced by Guildhall School of Music & Drama’s Live Events group. A bunch of globally recognised artists are behind the snazzy lights including Amelia Kosminsky – who has previously worked on Lumiere Durham, Christmas at Kew, the Mayor of London’s City Lights festival – and award-winning artist Zarah Hussain. The show will also be backed by original music, while there’ll be plenty of food and drink vendors present, plus pre-show entertainment courtesy of street performers Fool’s Paradise and drumming collective Drum Works.
There are to shows per day. Show 1: Gates open 3.30pm, display 5.30pm. Show 2: Gates open 7.00pm, display 9.00pm.
