Time Out says

Loads of plays in various continental languages? That must mean the return of Voila!, our city’s biggest European theatre festival. As usual, the shows will be setting up at Marylebone's Cockpit theatre, but with certain performances streaming online too.

Back for its ninth year, Voila! 2021 features genuinely exciting performers from Hungary, Austria, France, Belarus, Finland, Germany, Turkey, Italy and Czech Republic. Impressive! We say ‘performers’ because it’s a pretty diverse offering. Plays, mime, cabaret, digital stuff. The lot.

Highlights include Ladder Art Company’s UK’s theatre debut, ‘Awakening’, set in an other-worldly environment ‘brought to life by aeralists’. Satire ‘Unforgettable Girl’ meanwhile tells the story of an injustice, from the perspective of a Thai mail-order bride. Online offerings include documentary play ‘I Am’, based on real childhood stories from Belarus.
