This three-day field to fork course for young Londoners will take place at Stepney City Farm. Kids work together in two groups of eight, dividing their time between kitchen, field and dining table. Day one is all about meat. After caring for animals on the farm participants will receive expert instruction from The Ginger Pig on preparing chickens and breaking down a whole lamb shoulder for a tagine. On day two the focus is on veg. Activities will include make compost, planting, weeding and harvesting. The final day, looking the wild, will involve foraging in the local hedgerows and learning about bees. Root Camp also run residential courses for 14-21 year olds in rural locations.
