Our favourite post-apocalyptic drama returns to FOX on February 11 and the stakes are higher than London house prices. Following last season’s ‘All-Out-War’, the survivors – both old favourites and newbies – have to stay alive amidst a deteriorating world and against new foes: The Whisperers, led by the super-scary Alpha, played by British BAFTA Award-winning actress Samantha Morton.
With new showrunner Angela Kang at the helm, ‘The Walking Dead’ is bolder, bloodier and more bolshy than ever before. Mundane Monday nights have just got a whole lot more exciting.

To celebrate the show’s killer return, Time Out and FOX have joined forces to showcase the results of a national fan art competition, bringing to life the ultimate moments of the series and its iconic characters. At this special two-day exhibition on February 8 and 9 at the Old Truman Brewery in Brick Lane, FOX invites you to take a deep dive into one of TV’s most popular shows.
‘The Walking Dead: Art Apocalypse’ is an immersive journey through the show’s rich imagery and iconic characters. Experience interactive displays, including an installation inspired by the Governor’s Room complete with fish tanks showcasing walker heads. Gorehounds can even submerge their own head into the mix of decapitated zombies.
Fans can enjoy a replica of crossbow-wielding walker-hunter Daryl’s motorbike and witness live walkers recreating favourite moments. It’s like being in the show, but without, you know, actually fearing for your life.

But that’s not all. The exhibition will also present the 20 shortlisted entries of a nationwide fan art competition, and the winner will become the cover of our very own Time Out. Curated from over 800 entries, the shortlisted choices have been judged by FOX and Greg Nicotero, Executive Producer, Director and Special FX Make-Up Designer on ‘The Walking Dead’. Mixing traditional and cutting-edge means of expression, these striking, startling pieces shed new light on some of the most unforgettable scenes in TWD history.

The exhibition will also feature daily prosthetics demonstrations, exploring the creative make-up that has defined the unique look of the show. Fans can even be given a ‘make-under’ to look like a fearsome walker. Just watch who you scare when you’re walking down Brick Lane.
‘The Walking Dead’ Season 9 returns on Monday February 11 at 9pm on FOX.
‘The Walking Dead: Art Apocalypse’ takes place at G4, Truman Brewery, Ely’s Yard, 91 Brick Lane, E1 6QL, on February 8 (12pm-7pm) and 9 (10am-5pm). Warning: 18+ advisory age limit. The exhibition includes images that some people may find disturbing.
