Later this summer 20 colourful rickshaws will go on a global race to raise money for the Elephant Family, a charity fundraising to save the Asian elephant from extinction. Before they set off, the rickshaws, which have been turned into travelling masterpieces by artists and designers such as Diane von Furstenberg, Zandra Rhodes and Mulberry, will spend two months giving Londoners free lifts around destinations such as Covent Garden and Sloane Square. Each rickshaw is hosted by a London venue – to track one down visit the Travels to my Elephant website or keep an eye out for the imaginative little vehicles as they pootle through town.
