There’s no doubt about it – Londoners are cooking up some of the most brilliant bevvies on the planet right now. From micro-distilleries turning the humble gin and tonic into an art form, to bold new frontiers is brewing, cider-making and more, the city has become a global capital for grog.

Meet the people making it happen with Drinking In the View – a run of three Saturdays in which London’s leading alcohol artisans will be granting visitors a glimpse (and more importantly, a taste) of their world on board the London Eye’s capsules.

They also make whisky, rum and vodka, but for their stint on the London Eye, the Bow-based boozemongers will be focusing on gin. ELLC will be dishing out samples of their three award-winning varieties of Mother’s Ruin, while pointing out historic landmarks of London’s notorious gin craze and modern day gin hotspots.

Old Kent Road Brewery

One of the newer names on London’s brewing scene have caught the attention of craft beer bods with their mega-hopped flagship brew Heygate Pale. They’ll be pitting it against beers from others brewers from other parts of the city in an exploration of the many diverse beers that come under the umbrella of ‘pale ale’.
