Londoners who got used to the recent partial closure of Regent Street thanks to a burst water main might enjoy this whole-day official closure, particularly as it celebrates the culture – and food – of such countries as Argentina, China, Egypt, Trinidad and Tobago and Turkey, and offers live events and entertainment throughout the day inspired by those countries, as well as India, Brazil and America. From Turkey, there's the chance to sample coffee and turkish delight, Egypt brings traditional techniques such as henna artists, papyrus illustration and live music, Argentina offers an Argentine grill and tango lessons, and Trinidad and Tobago give you a chance to play mas with a steel pan band and dance competition. And perhaps best of all for younger visitors, Wallace and Gromit will feature in a hot air balloon towering over Regent Street.
