The Vortex Outdoors

Head to the square outside the Vortex for an afternoon of late-summer music. After the Open the Gate drummers begin the festivities, there will be performances from the London Calypso Tent, the Hackney Colliery Band and the finalists of the Soca Monarch competition. Then in the evening the Hackney One Carnival will parade through the square, before DJ Tudo brings things to a close with the sounds of Brazil. There will also be African Market stalls selling handicrafts.
