An artificial Christmas tree has a carbon footprint up to twenty times larger than a farmed one, so this year's V&A tree is celebrating sustainability. The Family Tree is modelled on the front cover of a book called ’The Christmas Tree’ illustrated by Fredun Shapur from the V&A’s collections. Twelve windows in the tree will display toys from the V&A Museum of Childhood's collections, reproduced in recycled laser cut cardboard. Plus, it's made up-cycled waste materials and recycled plastic bottles and paper.
