The Queen’s House was commissioned in 1616 for Queen Anne of Denmark, James I's wife (apparently it was a gift given to Anne by James in apology for having sworn at her in public, after she accidently shot one of his favourite dogs while hunting). The house was finished around 1638 for King Charles I’s wife, Henrietta Maria, and has since been the residence for many extraordinary women. As part of Women's History Month this curator-led tour will uncover the lives of the Queens who lived there.
