The Freud Museum and the Poetry Society have brought together poets, academics and psychoanalysts (several of the poets are academics and psychoanalysts) for this day-long series of talks exploring the role of the unconscious in poetry. Among them are Nuar Alsadir, who will describe her efforts to beat writer's block by grabbing phrases from her dreams by waking herself at 3.15am; Maurice Riordan explaining Yeats' attempts to harness his unconscious; and Kathryn Maris using New York School writer-artist Joe Brainard's brilliant 'I Remember' as a jumping off point for a discussion of memory.
