Whoever said endurance sports and alcohol don't mix was completely devoid of imagination. Just look at the London Beer Run - what better way is there to spend a Saturday than running eight kilometres, via some of the city's oldest and best taverns and inns?
The route will take you through London's liquid history, from the great beer tsunami of 1814 to the boozer which gave Dickens all of his ideas. It starts at Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese, London's oldest pub, and ends at the London City Runners bar on the Bermondsey Beer Mile. It's like the London marathon, but better, because you get a free pint at the finish line.
