Covent Garden Market hosts one of the capital's more eccentric traditions. Teams in fancy dress compete on a quirky obstacle course (beset with foam slaloms and inflatables) while carrying Christmas puds, in aid of Cancer Research UK. Previous celebrity contestants have included the seasonably named Jon Snow.
