History buffs will find it easy to entertain their chocoholic children this half term. Each day the Hampton Court's historic cookery experts will be on site to explain the workings of the palace's recently discovered Chocolate Kitchens (11am to 4pm), which open on Friday February 14. Activities include decorating Georgian chocolate cups with porcelain paints (daily 11pm-3pm), storytelling (weekends only at 11am, 1.30pm and 3.30pm), object handling (weekends only) and making your own drinking chocolate, the royals' most luxurious treat (weekends only 12.30pm-1.30pm and 2.30pm-3.30pm; book sessions when you arrive).
