The Cake Event

Here at Time Out towers we know a good cause when we see one. Charity Free Cakes for Kids Hackney do what they say on the tin: matching local bakers with disadvantaged families to provide birthday cakes for kids who would otherwise go without. Masterchef winner Natalie Coleman will be headlining a demo stage; there will be a tombola, a raffle, guess the weight of the cake competition, a gingerbread icing challenge, a beer-inspired cupcake contest and plenty of cake for sale. The event takes place on the same day as the London marathon, so if you would rather eat cake than run for a good cause (and who wouldn't) head to Hackney to join in the fun.
