Summer in the City at Valentines

Hip design team Timorous Beasties created the 'Valentines Textile' – a design inspired by Valentines Mansion and used in the garden on deckchairs, windbreaks and parasols – as part of Museumaker, a project that allowed cultural and historic venues to commission new artwork from contemporary makers. The textile is heat-sensitive, so during the day a composite image of the mansion and gardens appears on the garden furniture, then fades with the drop in temperature as darkness approaches.
