Neo-Classical architect Sir John Soane is responsible for many of London’s great monuments, from the Bank of England to Dulwich Picture Gallery. Not to mention, London’s Freemason’s Hall. Unfortunately, you can’t actually see his handiwork work for the clandestine club anymore (it was destroyed in 1883 to make way for the bombastic Art Deco structure you can see in Covent Garden now). But now, ‘Soane’s Ark: Building with Symbols’ is marking the 300th anniversary of the first Masonic Grand Lodge in London with a re-creation of Sir Soane's ‘Ark of the Masonic Covenant’ and an exhibition exploring Soane’s work with the handshaking fraternity.
