At Dalston’s female-founded SJQ music venue this International Women’s Day, a host of musical women will be taking to the stage to celebrate new music, female talent and solidarity in the creative communities. The line-up will be topped by Da Googie – aka My Bloody Valentine and Thurston Moore Group bassist Deb Googe – who’ll be treating the audience to songs and soundscapes from her latest album. She’ll be joined by ‘one-lesbian indie-rock band’ Jorinde, who’ll be launching her new single, 2024 Oram Award winner The Silver Field, Palestinian artist Bint Mbraeh, who is reclaiming droning from surveillance technology, and French multi-instrumentalist, producer and DJ Iko Chérie, who plays records that exclusively involve women.
