This one-day public event is a celebration of play occurring alongside the Barbican's exhibition ‘The World of Charles and Ray Eames’ (October 21-February 14). Toys and play were an important aspect of the Eames's process and they designed many toys and games including The House of Cards (1952), The Toy (1951), The Plywood Elephant (1945) and Solar Do-Nothing Machine (1957). Visitors of all ages are invited to explore the exhibition and take part in workshops and artist-led activities and to see performances and demonstrations. There are also activities sheets for children under ten available for free at the exhibition and under-14s can visit the Barbican's main gallery for free at any time.
