A half-day conference to discuss secularism and feminism and the relationship between the two. Is religion the primary cause for sustaining misogynistic laws and perpetuating the subservience of women? This and more will be discussed by Anne Marie Waters (spokesperson for the One Law For All campaign), Pragna Patel (Southall Black Sisters), Nahla Mahmood (Council of Ex-Muslims of Britain), Helen Palmer (Central London Humanists), Helen Nicholls (Lawyers Secular Society) and Yasmin Rehman (The Muslim Institute).
The event will be followed by Terry Sanderson's film compilation of women in comedy.
