During the flurry of exciting scientific discoveries which transformed Victorian Britain an array of writers transformed the new technologies and explanations into fairy tales, using dragons, fairies and monsters to represents dinosaurs, natural forces and bacteria. In this talk Melanie Keene, author of 'Science in Wonderland', looks at why the fantastical was used as a way of capturing the wonder and how the stories were presented and read, especially for a young audience.
