How would you approach asking a mate if they needed some support? It’s a tricky conversation to begin and, according to new research, almost half of Brits don’t know how to ask someone if they’re OK. Men’s health charity Movember and crisp connoisseurs Pringles are looking to change that with the Scan & Scran Café, a two-day pop-up based on a traditional British caff that’s designed to help people kick off a convo if they think their friends need to talk.
The café will be serving up classic dishes, like sausage baps and egg mayo sandwiches, for you to nosh on while you check in with your pals. Visitors will be shown how to access the Movember Conversations tool, which provides advice and guidance on how best to get that chat going, while football pundit and TV personality Jimmy Bullard will be on hand as the pop-up’s host to chat with customers about navigating sensitive conversations. The café is free entry with no tickets or pre-booking required, and even the food won’t cost you a penny. Instead, a ‘pay with a post’ system will be in operation, asking visitors to post on their socials about their visit to help spread awareness.
