Time Out says

New play by Maureen Duffy. From the Elysian Fields, Sappho looks back on her life, lost loves for other women and her work as it has come down to us after two and a half millennia, after much of it was burnt by the Christian church in 1152 because of its gay content. The performance includes new translations of all Sappho's major songs. Maureen Duffy's previous plays include 'Rites' at the National Theatre with Geraldine McEwan and 'A Nightingale in Bloomsbury Square' with Siân Phillips as Virginia Woolf.
