SAFAR Film Festival

The UK’s longest running Arab film festival is about to begin for its 2024 season, and this year’s theme is On Dreams, Hopes and Realities. There’ll be over 60 films on the programme, screening at the likes of the Barbican, Ciné Lumière, the ICA and more. Life is Beautiful is a 2023 film by Palestinian director Mohamed Jabaly documenting the years he was shut out of Gaza, and The Mother of All Lies is a film by Moroccan filmmaker Asmae El Moudir about her exploration of the Casablanca neighbourhood where she grew up.
