Fifty years after the death of conservationist Rachel Carson, the Royal Society take a look at her masterpiece 'Silent Spring'and question what we have learnt from it. A panel of experts including author John Burnside FRSL, scientist Professor John Pickett FRS and policy maker Kerry ten Kate will dissect Carson's writing as well as discussing the roles of literature, science and policy in protecting our planet today. Held in collaboration with the Royal Society of Literature.
