On show for the first time in 50 years is the Royal Society's First Charter, its Great Seal and Charter Book. The display marks 350 years since the charter, which indicates how the Society should conduct business, along with its rights and privileges, was granted by Charles II and eminent scientists from the UK and abroad began signing their obligation to it in the Charter Book; officially certifying their fellowship of the Royal Society. The book is about to be signed by this year's Fellows, following in the footsteps of Isaac Newton, Charles Darwin, Christopher Wren, Richard Dawkins, David Attenborough, Tim Berners-Lee and many others.
