Throughout the nineteenth and twentieth centuries Romanian folk art has been used to represent national pride and showcase women's skill and industry. This exhibition of elaborate textiles, costumes and artefacts tells of the peasant homes which traditionally created the objects, how the upper classes adopted the designs and how the meaning behind them was manipulated to benefit the Ceausescu regime.
