These vibrant photographic portraits depict one of the last remaining nomadic theatre troupes in Indonesia. Dressed in the traditional costumes of Ketoprack – a type of Javanese theatre – the performers pose in modern-day settings. The project is the result of a collaborative period of work between British artist Helen Marshall, Indonesian artist Risang Yuwono and the depicted community of travelling players. The photographs are displayed alongside an Indonesian mask that has been in the Horniman's collection since 1965.
