On December 15, British ESA Astronaut Tim Peake launches into space for a six-month mission onboard the International Space Station. To celebrate, the Science Museum and Natural History Museum are hosting free events for all ages. Highlights at the Science Museum include Kings College London experts showcasing the SkinSuit used by Andreas Mogensen, and a debate surrounding the need for manned missions considering advances in robotics, instrumentation and satellites. The Natural History Museum will see drop-in events scheduled throughout the day giving little ones the chance to hold specimens, meet scientists and leave message for Tim Peake at a 'space station'.
