This extra special Science Museum late opening celebrates Tim Peake's historic Principia mission, which sees him become the first British astronaut to travel to the International Space Station with the European Space Agency. More than 50 free events will take place across the museum including talks, debates, workshops and games all led by space experts and astronauts. A video of Peake's arrival at the ISS will be screened to the public for the first time and special guests include Alexei Leonov, who was the first man ever to walk in space. The Cosmonauts: Birth of the Space Age exhibition will be open for most of the evening.
Leonov will also talk about his missions in a special Q&A event at 8pm - tickets cost £20 and must be booked in advance on the Science Museum website.
