Double Mercury prize winner and alternative music legend PJ Harvey will record her ninth album from inside an architectural installation in the recently opened New Wing of Somerset House. Harvey, her band, her producers and engineers will work in a box made of one-way glass for four weeks, essentially becoming a multi-dimensional sound sculpture while they work. Each session's visitors will experience a different aspect or update in the recording, whether it be a new vocal track or a tweak in the production, and will be able to listen out for the section they witnessed the conception of when the album is released later this year.
