Time Out says

The Big Lunch concept was initiated by The Eden Project. The aim is to get as many people as possible across the whole of the UK to have lunch with their neighbours annually on the first Sunday in June, in a bid to encourage community, friendship and fun. Londoners who like the idea but don't fancy cooking can gather at the Munch Street Food Festival. Food traders include Byron Burgers, the Breakfast club, Mama's Jerk station and Rom Rom's hot dogs. Bars will be serving drinks including Harry Brompton's alcoholic ice tea. There will be plenty of entertainment to enjoy once you've finished eating with performances taking place on the stage, bouncy castles, face painting and stalls from local schools.
