Time Out says

Mothers wearing aprons and perfect smiles while serving steaming cups of PG Tips and plates of McVities biscuits; mothers hoovering with set curls and full make-up: all of these images can be found in vintage British adverts. While we still have a long way to go in our portrayal of gender roles in advertising, the collection at the Museum of Brands shows us how far we've come.

This Mother's Day talk explores the image of 'the mother' in media, an emblem that has been used to promote everything from spanx to soap. Go on a nostalgia trip through the Museum's unique collection and revisit the 'mums' who offered a face to brands like Spangles, Kellogg’s County Store and Lyon Maid ice lollies. Find out more here
